Think and Grow Rich: A Practical and Comprehensive Interpretation.
Think and Grow Rich: Part 5 – The Mystery of Sex Transmutation
(part 3 of 3)
The chapter encapsulates the process of turning a burning desire into a plan that can be executed into action whilst being respectful to not violate anyone's rights.
Our imagination is now in a state of problem-solving when we shift from a desire to the execution of it. We can compare it to the example where we would start thinking about the type of date we would like this beautiful woman to experience with us – i.e. the rooftop restaurant with orchard flowers and conversations.
The act of dating strengthens the previously developed faith and courage that we start with. The repetition of the dates would continue until your faith in each other has become so strong that it transforms into a belief. In this case, the belief would be that both of you would like to physically express the emotions that you feel towards each other in the form of sex (or marriage, then sex – however you wish to view it).
Therefore, this chapter is an example of the entire process that one can manifest a desire/idea into its physical equivalent by following these principles.
Furthermore, Napoleon Hill describes in Think and Grow Rich that this same process that one would use to for fill a sexual desire can be used for any other idea that exists within our mind.
With this example, a man romances a woman, and the woman romances the man as well in response, during the entire process to ultimately experience their inner desire as a physical tangible entity (i.e. sex/orgasm).
It all began with a thought (attraction) and the process of building faith and courage (feeling) leading them into actions (dating) of building a belief that they could share an intimate relationship to further express and enjoy the amazing emotion of love that they feel for each other.
Think and Grow Rich suggests that we can romance ideas that resonate with us into something physical and tangible in our reality – if it can work for love then it could work for other desires.
(It would still require us to build faith, courage, and belief for it to manifest into some tangible.)
“There is a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Closed minds do not inspire faith, courage or belief”
There is one principle of Think and Grow Rich that we haven’t yet discussed that is at play in this example. It's the principle that can be considered as the most important of all 13 success principles - without it, we would never be able to experience life as individuals.
This principle either 'makes or breaks' the results that you desire.
